Yesterday (Thursday) was another one of those "catch up on domestic chores" days. A stack of washing and still trying to get some of the red dust out of the place. After lunch we wandered off to the beach for a 'swim' and a bit of a rest. We found the beach - lots and lots and lots of it - and very little water. The tide was receding and the water was only ankle deep for quite some way out into the Beagle Gulf and Timor Sea. There are some advantages of living on the New South Wales coast - lots of water at the beach!!

Today (Friday) we started our touristy thing. Drove into Darwin itself but after doing a lap of the city realised that we weren't going to get any sort of parking and promptly drove out. We are considering an easier alternative - Public Transport - as there are quite a few things that we would like to see. Found a nice spot for lunch and then visited the Museum and Art Gallery of Northern Territory. A very modern building (as most of them are up here) with some wonderful displays of everything Territorian but the best part was the Cyclone Tracy display. As well as having lots of photos, newspaper clippings and such, there was a special room that you could enter and it would sound like you were in the middle of 'Tracy' with the wind howling around you, the rain pelting on the roof and all of the debris flying around. Awfully scary!!
In the meantime, our fishing expeditions have been curtailed as a member of Team Turtle is suffering the after affects of a crocodile attack!

Poor old Tuf Cat has a broken leg!
After an exhaustive investigation, it is also possible that the attack could have been from a submerged crocolog. Whatever way it happened, it has to be replaced - not just repaired. We do have a spare but it is best that we order another two - just in case - and, hopefully, all will be better by late next week.
Ah, the trials and tribulations...............
