More Lazy Days in Darwin

Yep, just veging out here in Darwin.  Taking in a few sights around town although we haven't ventured back into the city itself just yet.  Spent a couple of afternoons on the beach around high tide so that there was a little bit more water than usual.  It seems that fishing/boating type people in this part of the world have their lives 'ruled' by the tides - it is next to impossible to launch or retrieve ones boat at low tide at most of the ramps and there is also too much 'sand' and not enough water at the beach.  A tough life, but someone has to do it!!

The Captain put the spare propeller onto Tuf Cat yesterday and so we were able to take her for a paddle for a couple of hours.  Very pleasant afternoon but we only caught one little rock cod and then the wind blew up a bit strong so we came home.  A bonus was that, back at the boat ramp, The Deckie was able to put Tuf Cat onto her trailer in one go with a very large audience - what a confidence boost!!  Usually when there is some interested onlookers, The Deckie stuffs it up and has to have a couple of goes but when there is nobody else there, it goes on perfectly.  Such is life!!

We are still trying to send some of this warmth that we have here at the moment back to the east coast of NSW, but it doesn't seem to be working - sorry about that but we are thinking of you!
