Onto Plan C

At this stage in the trip, our plans were to head north (from Cloncurry) to Karumba.  Well, Mother Nature has other plans for us.  The road north of Burke and Wills Roadhouse and the road from Normanton to Karumba are still a few metres under water so we headed into Mount Isa.  There is a large dam here - Lake Moondarra - that is 100% full and apparently well stocked with Barramundi and Sooty Grunter.  We thought we might spend a few days here, put poor old Tuf Cat in for a paddle and try and catch some dinner.

And we overtook our first Road Train!!  The Road Trains up here are only 55 metres long and just have the three trailers.  We normally allow the road trains to overtake us but this time the Road Train was empty, we were going up a fairly long hill and there was an overtaking lane - woohoo!!!!

Haven't done any touristy stuff yet - just cleaned out Tuf Cat and prepared the fishing gear for (hopefully) a good day on the water.
