Friday and Saturday

It was very nice to be on the water again yesterday - Tuf Cat had a lovely paddle - but, unfortunately, we didn't catch anything that was suitable for dinner.  The Captain did catch a plantfish, but we thought it best if we released it back into its own environment.

The day was pleasant, even if it was a bit overcast, and Moondarra Dam just seems like an oasis in the middle of a desert.  (Which basically it is!!)  Lots of wonderful rock formations around the perimeter of the dam and obviously there is nothing of value in them as far as minerals go otherwise they would have been mined ages ago.

The Captain and his plantfish

Another easy day today (Saturday).  Grocery shopping (arghhh), touristy stuff and then found the upper reaches of the dam for lunch and a little bit of fishing off the banks. And then it started raining - not heavy - just enough to be a nuisance.

Some good news - whilst in the tackle shop this  morning we heard that they had started to reopen the road to Normanton - yippee!!!  Some more enquiries will be made on Monday so we will keep our fingers crossed.
