Lazy Daze

After our enforced overnight sleepout, we decided to have a couple of quiet days.  Went fishing on Tuesday - just locally - and managed to catch a couple of nice salmon.  The Deckie's fish was only just that much bigger than The Captain's!

On Tuesday night, our next door neighbour was kind enough to give us his GPS marks for a couple of fishing spots out past the channel markers.  Mind you, the channel markers here at Karumba start about ten klms from the mouth of the river so its a fair trip just to get out there.  Came home at a reasonable hour to cook dinner, but oops, the meat was still frozen.  Oh dear, what a dilemma, guess we will have to go to the pub!  A quick tub and change out of smelly fishing clothes and a quiet stroll to the Sunset Tavern for a nice meal and quiet drink whilst we watched the coming and goings on the water!

Unfortunately on Wednesday, the fish weren't biting where they were supposed to but we still had a very pleasant day on the water.

Today (Thursday) is maintenance day as we will be leaving here tomorrow :-((

The plan for the next couple of weeks is (at this stage) to travel to Burketown via the Savannah Way, head south to Gregory Downs and hopefully visit Lawn Hill National Park.  After the National Park, we will head south to Camooweal and then west into the Northern Territory.  All of this is subject to the roads being open (after all of the rain and floods) and being able to carry larger vehicles without them being bogged.  One, after all, has to stay away from that damn mud!!

Catch up soon!
